Meet Amanda
Hello! I am Amanda Krzysiak, a Licensed Social Worker and PhD student with over 4,000 hours of direct clinical experience supporting diverse client populations across the lifespan.
My work spans a range of psychiatric presentations, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, and substance use. I provide trauma-informed, individualized care and manage a complex clinical caseload across multiple treatment settings.

My clinical approach is rooted in connection, curiosity, and compassion. I practice from a harm-reduction, strengths-based lens and integrate evidence-based modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. I prioritize the therapeutic alliance and collaborate with you to support sustainable, meaningful change. I am also committed to LGBTQIA+ affirming and inclusive care.
My research and advocacy focus on the intersection of chronic illness, medical trauma, and eating disorders. Moreover, I am interested in weight stigma/bias in healthcare and provider bias as a whole, and particularly in weight bias in healthcare, inequities in assessment tools, and the role of food insecurity in eating disorder development across urban communities. My work is grounded in advancing accessibility, equity, and justice within mental health, medical, and eating disorder treatment spaces.
As a rare disease patient, USEF para-equestrian, and National Wheelchair Basketball Association athlete, I bring lived experience into my clinical and research work. I am actively involved in national advocacy efforts through organizations including NORD, the EveryLife Foundation, the Academy for Eating Disorders (Weight Stigma SIG), and the Eating Disorder Coalition.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy traveling, skiing in the Pocono Mountains and Vermont, playing wheelchair basketball, and spending time in Florida.
